Recent flooding has caused closures on major roadways in Garwood Borough and surrounding towns, including Route 78, 24, 22, and GSP. The Office of Emergency Management has reported many surface streets are also flooded, with swift water rescues ongoing in Berkeley Heights and New Providence. Crews from Clark and Cranford are providing mutual aid in these rescue efforts. Residents are advised to exercise caution if traveling, and to remember the phrase "turn around, don't drown" to ensure safety during these challenging conditions.
