Garwood Recreation's Summer Camp 2024 Ends on High Note
Staff Report / garwoodLocal.org
The Garwood Recreation summer camp of 2024 concluded on an exciting note despite the rainy weather in the last week of the session. The camp ensured a fun-filled experience for campers by organizing a series of activities.
Among the key highlights of the week-long festivities were a gaming truck facilitated by NJ Game Truck and an ice cream sundae service, courtesy of the It's Delicious Ice Cream Truck. The camp allowed attendees to indulge in video games and enjoy delicious ice cream sundaes.
Symbolizing the vibrant spirit of the camp, participants sported tie-dye shirts for "Wear your tie-dye shirt day". Carrying forward the energy, the week concluded with an "End-of-Summer Dance Party", hosted by Alan Keith Entertainment.
Daily supplementary activities also formed part of the last week’s program. From tetherball to arts and crafts, from 4-square to board games, the camp offered myriad opportunities to make the most of the summer. A welcome addition on hot days were ice pops, ensuring the kids stayed cool while having fun.
The Garwood Recreation team also ensured water-based activities were included, reminding each camper to carry swimsuits, water shoes, and towels. As part of their "Water Day", a foam party was organized on Friday, capping the week off.
The organizers urged the campers to bring their snacks and ice water daily while maintaining a lost-and-found center during the camp’s proceedings.
As the camp wrapped up, the Garwood Recreation team extended their gratitude for a successful summer camp and eagerly looked forward to greeting the campers in the upcoming year.
